Center Partners donated supplies to take to an all girl school in Tanzania, Africa. We collected supplies from several sources, and were able to take five large suitcases—250 pounds total to the school. The girls who attend this school are from very poor families or are orphans, and they rely totally on donations to be able to pay tuition, supplies, and uniforms. We were very surprised to find out that it only costs $270 a year for a girl to attend.
This school opened in January, 2007, with only two classrooms completed—each one filled with 35 students. The school plans on building four additional classrooms and a biology lab.
It was a wonderful visit and they were all very appreciative of the donations.
